Chinese Celebrities Hit the Runway at Shanghai Fashion Week

Forget supermodels — many fashion houses tapped celebrities to model their latest garments for this year’s Shanghai Fashion Week.

Featured celebrities included award-winning 65-year-old actor Tony Leung, who walked for local brand JUDYHUA.

“As an actor, you want to present your role,” he said. “As a model, you want to present fashion.” Leung represented the overarching theme of the JUDYHUA show: transcending the different roles of life.

Malaysian wedding brand DanieLeslie, meanwhile, brought TV actor Ron Ng to the catwalk to model their elaborate, traditional Chinese-style celebratory looks.

He was paired with Li Cai Hua (also known as Rain Lee), an actress from Hong Kong.

Finally, the elegant  Zhang Xinyu walked for ordúdíordú in a Breakfast at Tiffany’s-meets-royalty confection.

Zhang, also known as Viann Zhang, is known for her role in Chinese historical dramas.
