Chinese Youth Love Pizza Hut’s Collab with Genshin Impact

On August 29, Pizza Hut China rolled out three limited-edition Genshin Impact-themed meals, leading fans to form hours-long queues outside locations of the fast food chain.

Despite Genshin Impact’s global popularity, few know that the hit game is the brainchild of a Chinese company called miHoYo.

The three limited-edition meal sets cost 69 to 189 RMB (around 10 to 27 USD).  Goodies include Genshin Impact-themed items like mouse pads and servingware.

Pizza Hut dishes and drinks have also crossed from the real world to the virtual world. Genshin Impact’s developers have promised to include the fast food chain’s meals in-game for players to engage with.

One fan of the game allegedly “rode the subway for three hours” to get to a Pizza Hut. Others find the commotion ridiculous: “Why are the lines so long? Don’t people need to work or study?”
