12 New Top-Ranked Tourist Destinations in China

China’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism recently revealed a list of 12 locations that have newly attained the highest rating awarded to tourist destinations, including waterfalls, ancient towns, and ethnic enclaves.

ZHIJINDONG CAVE NATIONAL GEOPARK

The site is a karst cave in Southwest China’s Guizhou province and is a UNESCO Global Geopark. It has four layers and covers more than 700,000 square meters.

THREE GORGES WATERFALL

Located in the Central China province of Hubei, the valley features about 30 natural waterfalls. It’s one of the top 10 waterfall locations in China.

HUANGYAO ANCIENT TOWN

This old town in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region in southern China has a history of around 1,000 years, and many of its buildings date back to the Qing Dynasty.
